- Uh oh! I entered the wrong shipping address! What do I do?
Contact me immediately! Include your order details: name, order number, and correct address. Once your order has shipped, I have no control over the package and is out of my hands (literally). In most cases, it will be returned back to me. Then I will have to send an additional invoice for shipping to get this out to you, at the correct address.
- How soon will I get my order?
Please refer to my Shipping Policy page for all the details.
- Do you offer custom or personalized orders?
Custom and personalized orders are a specialty I love to offer and happily welcome. Parties, showers, wedding/party favors, bridal/grooms gifts, any occasion. Custom gifts for someone special, personalized labels, shoot me a message and let's chat! Lead time can vary 2-4 weeks depending on the product and season, so please plan accordingly.
- Would you be able to do a custom blend for soap?
Yes I can! You would need to purchase a full loaf - which is roughly 10-12 bars/4.5-5 oz weight. Price will depend on ingredients. Lead time roughly 5 weeks (soap takes 4 weeks to cure) Please contact me to discuss your perfect soap!
- Do you offer wholesale/private label/white label?
Looking to carry Plainville Homestead in your shop or boutique? Wholesale is available. I'd love to connect! Currently, I do not offer private or white label.
- What is your return/exchange/damage policy?
Please refer to my Return Policy page for the full details.
- Will the pretty botanicals on soaps clog my drains or affect my septic tank?
Most toppings are small and easily passed. If you have a concern, please take a moment to brush the toppings off into your trash prior to using.
- Do you use chemicals in your products?
Short answer, yes. Everything is a chemical. Water. Oxygen. Our bodies are entirely comprised of chemicals and totally ok.
Let's debunk the myth that if an ingredient cannot be pronounced that it must be harmful. Cyanide flows from the tongue easily, but is quite harmful. What is butyrospermum parkii? It's simply shea butter, which is a wonderful moisturizer for your skin. Don't fall trap to the fear mongering. Chemicals are not bad; harmful chemicals are. Be wary of companies that claim they do not use chemicals. Stay curious, ask questions, and be informed.
- What's the difference between fragrance and flavor oils?
The difference between a flavor and fragrance oil is a flavor oil is lip safe. While they are a "flavor" oil, they do not produce a taste; a sweetener would need to be added, which I do not use.
Many products are scented using organic essential oils. Due to nature, some scents simply are not available in essential oils; for instance, many berry notes. However, all of my flavor oils and a large majority of my fragrance oils are USDA-certified organic, as my supplier provides natural flavors and fragrances derived from plant, vegetable, and fruit extracts/materials. Any other fragrance oils used are phthalate-free. All flavors and fragrances are always used within the safe and recommended dermal usage rates.
