Looking to reduce your carbon footprint? Lotion refills are now available in your favorite scents! These refill pouches require 50% less plastic than the plastic bottles. They weigh less for shipments, use less materials to create, require less energy, and are easily recyclable at numerous grocery store plastic drop off centers.
While these refills are in plastic pouches, sustainability is a complex and nuanced topic with many gray areas and working parts. To eliminate plastic in its entirety is not the answer right now until other systems are in place. If plastic was eliminated completely, more than 3 times the materials and more than 2 times the energy would be needed for alternate packaging solutions, which would also then doubles emissions.
Plastic and waste consumption needs to be mitigated. Reduction is the next best step for our environment.
